Our Work
Equipping the U.S. military with mission-critical apps.
The U.S. military is defined by its ability to take decisive action. This was especially true at the height of the COVID pandemic. To give commanding generals access to key metrics for its deployed personnel and field hospitals across the U.S., the military and Apple turned to About Objects for solutions. The outcome was a marked advance in military responsiveness.
Building greater response readiness
As the military moved quickly to set up field hospitals and deploy hospital ships, our team designed three FedRAMP and NIST-compliant mobile apps: Medical Status Report (MEDSTAT), Logistic Status (LOGSTAT), and Personnel Accountability (PERSTAT). Launched within a compressed timeline, our rapid app development process was conducted on an innovative IL4-compliant mobile platform. When combined, the three apps provided 360-degree communications capabilities, and enabled the military to monitor mission readiness from both personal and managed mobile devices.

Developed just-in-time
Working in close collaboration with the military, About Objects implemented new command and control ideas in real time. And because the President himself made the project a priority, apps that would ordinarily take years to develop were launched in a matter of weeks. As a result, military personnel were able to securely capture availability, location, disposition data, and daily muster reports, which were then fed into a centralized dashboard. For their commanding generals, these critical apps informed decision-making, allowing them to take decisive action.
